1/48 Tamiya P-51 B 4th FG (Kidd Hofer's Salem Representative) WIP....

Another super nice build. Very well done.

Damn Joe. What can I say that hasn’t already been said before…but here’s another stunning example of why I need more planes on my shelf. =D

Gorgeous.

Joe - excellent work!

Gorgeous! : )

Excellent build![t$t] Love the addition of Duke. I read that when he was shot down and killed while strafing an airfield that Duke went to his parking area and howled.[:(]

Joe - Another great one among the completed fine builds, and interesting history with it.

Mavericks among pilots are plentiful, as they are in many others fields, (maybe not librarians.) They can be stellar performers, simply by being able to accept the higher risks that come with the theatrics and swagger they thrive on. Many of them die young, not the intended goal of the units they serve in. Can’t be of much benefit to the Fighter Group, if you pack it up by flying “outside the envelope.”

Then you have to wonder how many of their compatriots bought it, simply because the mavericks weren’t there to “cover their six.” They had become part of a smoking hole in the ground, shortly before the guy that needed help, came to need it.

Thanks for the posts and photos, mighty good job.

Patrick

Another really fantastic build. Thank you for the WIP.

Groot

Thanks everyone.

Mike, I remember reading that too. Very sad. I have a rather large German Shepard myself. He opens doors on his own, howls at fire engine sirens and watches TV. That breed is too smart for its own good. Hes jet black with piercing brown eyes…very menacing looking, but he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and he adores my 8 year old girl.

Patrick, I agree. Swagger goes with “Type A” personalities. I work with a bunch of them…lol.

I think I’m gonna have another go at painting the dog. It doesn’t look right to me. Maybe more tan. Thats my first painted animal…

I’m considering a Hasegawa P-40E or Tamiya P-47 Razorback next. I’m trying to get inspired…

Joe

Amazing! I really like the OD/NM mix. I have wanted to do a plane named “Bald Eagle” which is also an OD/NM mix, but not until the picture of this plane fades away. How do you display all your builds? knox

Excellent build Joe!
