I’m about to build one of Tamiyas Mosquito. It even has a Marking for a RNZAF aircraft which is good, me being a Kiwi [:)]
Any hints , tips on building this kit.
This will be my First tamyia Kit as well, I’ve heard they are good so I’ looking forward to it.
Seems that you have the FB VI with the 487 Sqn RNZAF markings from 140 Wing, 2nd TAF, most commonly called the Guestapo Hunters. Kiwi markings in the kit make up EG-T one of the aircraft used in the Amiens Prison raid on 18th Feb 1944. And should look like this when finished [without the 464 Sqn RAAF markings], who was apart of this wing.

It’s a great kit & a fairly easy build. The cockpit interior is a little off, but acceptable. If you want the bay doors closed, a little work is required, but nothing too difficult.

I did the Mk. IV recently (1/48) and it was one of the most enjoyable builds I’ve done in a long time. No real fit problems and all I did was a tiny bit of detailing with wire and other odds and ends. I used an Aeromaster sheet which as always settled down nice and flat. I wound up doing a recce bird, to which I added two flash bombs along with the kit cameras to give a little more interest to the already well-detailed bomb bay (after which, I wondered if the flash bombs were in fact something used by Mossies in WW II). I’m looking forward to doing others in this series, something with guns in the nose.
