1/48 Tamiya F-16DG 555th Triple Nickel conversion

I had to wrap this up for a show, so I had to skimp on the canopy. I also had to fix some problems. I’m not happy with the way the canopy came out. The seats also didn’t seat properly, so the angle looks off. But anyway, I’m about dead now…enjoy!

Afterburner decals, BB cockpit, D parts from a Hase.

Looks expertly done to me. What’s a BB cockpit? …Hase D parts?

Black Box cockpit and Hasegawa F-16D parts.

Ahhh… couldn’t wait for Tamiya to finally release a “D”, eh?

Excellent work here, looks like the Hasegawa parts fit very well to the Tamiya kit. How was it, a lot of work for the conversion? Also, the day-glo pod on the port wing (forgot the designation and my references are at home!), was that scratchbuilt? I like it very much.

Great to see this one displayed, I was looking at your sig in another thread and noticed that you had a “DG” finished, glad to see pics! [:D]

Looks great, should bring sum-m home from the show with that one!!!

Even with the issues you mentioned, I think she is a very beautiful build. Good luck in the show!

Well done on the Viper my friend… Good luck at the show!! Btw, isn’t that a KINETIC kit?

Thanks for sharing!!

Rangers Lead The Way

The basic conversion was done in 2 hours, no trouble at all. The hump from the Hase kit fit beautifully:

The pod is an AMD, and it was made from a Hase AIM-9. Clipped off the front wings, threw it on my Dremel, and shaped the nose. Voi-la!

Thanks for the explanation Habu! Nicely done. [tup]

Wonder when Tamiya is gonna release their “D”. [:D]

Beautiful work on the Viper. Very realistic.
