1/48 Tamiya Beaufighter Mk.21, 93rd Squadron, RAAF

Kit – 1/48 Tamiya Bristol Beaufighter TF.Mk.X
Decals – ROP o.s Mk.21 Australian Beaufighter in service pt4
This is Tamiya’s TF.Mk.X kit which has the parts to do the RAAF version, (but it does not tell you this in the instructions)
I filled in the wing gun ports as the rocket version did not have wing guns, and added the sperry autopilot which is included in the kit.

The main colour is Lifecolor RAAF dark green, other paints used were Tamiya, Vallejo acrylics. For something different I used AK True Metal (gunmetal) for the engines, and it worked a treat. Flory dark dirt wash and Vallejo satin varnish finish it off. I used EZ line for the antenna cable.

Grant - It’s a real beauty for certain, just excellent all round. Perfect finish and details, a treat to see. Thanks so much for the post and photos.

Oh wow, a monochromatic scheme can be hard to pull off but you did a beautiful job here! And the bronze cowlings came out great.

That is a Beau-tiful Beaufighter! Nicely done.

John

Absolutely stunning…thanks for sharing.

That is awesome. One color that looks a little worn. Nicely done
