This project used a Lionel Power Shovel as a basis for the model. The only thing I kept was the body(also known as the house) and the machinery deck. The boom came from another Lionel kit. The drive chains came from McMaster-Carr. The track wheels were made from heavily modified wheels from a 1985 Pontiac car kit. Everything else was scratch built. The days of fixed leads pile drivers are fading fast. Most companies now use hydraulic vibratory hammers for pile work. I have always liked the rugged look of the fixed leads.
Another outstanding effort! Love your choice of subjects- not too many around here model the Igloo/Coleman coolers. Oh and the crane is pretty cool too [Y]
