1/48 scale scratch build plans

HI There,

I have been thinking of making a diorama, involving a 1/48 P-47D and a 1/48 Scale Jeep. However I cannot find a 1/48 Jeep kit [:(!]

So I now resort to plan B, which is to scratch build one. But now I am faced with another problem…where do I start?

Any pearls of wisdom from the guru’s would be really appreciated.

I did a quick search on greatmodels http://www.greatmodels.com/

Go there and type in 1/48 jeep under the search thingy and it comes up with several results. again those are just a few results from a brief search. someone more knowledgable will probably come along soon.

Verlinden has made 2 1/48 Jeeps, a standard willys and an airfield “Follow Me” jeep. Both are nice and no matter your skill level it would be lots easier than scratchbuilding.

another search… In the aircraft forum mkhoot builkt the 1/48 Bandai Kit follow me jeep. Looks pretty cool. I haven’t searched where you could get it but you could probably do it. I’m tired and going to bed now. Good Luck.

Thanks for the help guys, I have ordered the jeep kit from Verlinden as well as some figures. Will keep you guys posted has the diorama takes shape.[;)]
