I have just finished this Tomcat and thought I would put it up for some critizism because to be honest I hardly ever do Fast Jets and I thought I would have a go at this one!
I’ll be honest …I fought with it from start to finish…mainly because nothing seemed to fit together very well and I really didn’t have my heart in it.I think this will be my last jet for a while[;)]
The model is the Hasegawa 1:48 scale and I built it OOB. The only scratch building I did this time was the front Tow Bar and the Chocks and placed on this simple display board.
Any way please feel free to comment…good or bad…I can take it!!..as usual from me …loads of pics[:D]
That’s a pretty bloody nice puddy tat you got there Foz. Weathering is nice and subtle, panel lines look just right - varying in depth and not too proud at all and the scratchbuilding looks awesome. You should couple it with a tractor.
The only thing I can see that you’ve missed is the damaged paint and scuffing of the var/geo wings where they hide inside the fuselage when swept back and resemble delta wings.
Looks amazing. I tried my hand at a Hase f-14 a while back and you’re right…the fit is horrible. Mine went in the trash. Yours on the other hand is spectacular. You obvioulsy have more patience than I do.
I was going to add my 2 cents about making it look a little more worn and weathered but after looking at your site I don’t think you need my advice. Nice builds on there.
