1/48 scale civil aircraft

Hmm;

How do I phrase this ? I have many of the Minicraft small civil aviation subjects . Problem .Nice planes and concise decals .Now question .Why didn’t they include the stripes for the aircraft ? The Cessna 150 was a bear to paint stripe and so on . T.B.

Yea I know I’ve used solid color decal sheets and painting leaves rough edges maybe with tamiya tape for curves may work better

The papers for inkjet decals have become quite easy to use in the last decade, and are a lot easier to make than masking and painting, in my opinion. Making dark colored decals for use on light colored aircraft is pretty easy, end most civil aircraft these days are white. Decaling white stripes for darker paints is another, more complicated problem. Making inkjet decals is a common thread in the decals forum below.

If you need to have white or lighter colored stripes on a darker base color try painting the light color first (in the area where the stipes will be) then tape off the stripes and paint the dark color over the top.

Hey ;

I went ahead and tried something new for me . I painted my aircraft golden Tan . Then I taped off my stripes . Shot it again ! Now I have a very nice Cessna 150 in medium light brown and those beautiful golden tan stripes .

Just like the one out here at New Braunfels airport ! T.B.

I wish that we had more 1/48 options for civilian aircraft. While not horrible, as an example, the Hobbycraft Beaver and Otter could do to be replaced, and where’s the Twotter (Twin Otter)?
