Fuselage cut with Monogram interior installed.

Koster conversion fitted.



I decided to build an adverasry to go with it.Tamiya A6M2 marked as an aircraft flyng out of Java.

Wow! Fantastic job on the conversion. I dont think I’ve ever seen a C in 1/48. Very cool. I love the early war stuff. Looks like you are doing a great job. [8D]

mkhoot: That is simply beautiful. Like TAdan wrote, one hardly ever sees a “C” in 1/48. Plus, you did it up so nicely. How hard was the conversion? I have a F kit in my stash that I plan on building as an F, but seeing the tail on your C makes me want to build an earlier version, too.

My hats off to you. That is truly a wonderfully done unique build.

Thanks for the comments guys I’m really having fun building this one. The markings are for an aircraft at Clark field Manila on Dec 7 1941.

Mucker the Koster conversions are great. They go together quite well. I’m thinking of ordering the clear parts to this conversion to back date a Monogram B-17G to an E.

I was curious myself and did a search i found them at great models webstore. Just search koster and the conversion right at the top $17.95.

It’s amazing how much that old familiar bird changed throughout the years. The basic shape is really quite different than, say a B-17G. You did a bang up job on yours, mk! It must be really satisfying to know that you have something on your shelf no one else does!

Absoulutly fantastic, I know hard hard that conversion is, Im workign on a 1/48 B-17D to go with my e and that conversion can be alot of work, I opened my waist gunner windows, cockpit, and gunners tub, and cut the bomber in havlf to attach the new rear,I have scratch built the interior much like what I have done to my E but thats about as far as I have gotten.
