1/48 Revell Super Hornet Pics

Revell 1/48 F/A-18E Super Hornet

She’s been finished for some time now, but I just now got around to taking some pictures. I’m not entirely happy with the way everything turned out. Once again my poor putty skills reared their ugly head so there are a few gaps in the forward fuselage area that I stayed away from when shooting pictures. Also, the decals absolutely would not play nice so there is a bit of silvering.

I’m glad I built this kit though as I learned I don’t like building 1/48 jets that much because they are just too big for my tastes and my available display space. This isn’t a bad kit, I just ran out of patience with it after putting the first coat of paint on for some reason. I started looking forward to my next build…maybe I should have shelved the super hornet for a bit and come back to it later.

Looking at it now, it didn’t turn out quite as bad as I thought it did, but I’d definitely say it’s not my best effort. Oh well, while I’m down on myself over the exterior, I think I did a bang up job on the cockpit.

I’m already in the finishing stages of an Accurate Miniatures SBD-3 that’s futured and getting it’s decals so hopefully I can wrap that one up within a week and get some finished pics of it

Thanks for lookin’

I’d be proud to display it on my shelf. Don’t be down on yourself. Great job in my book. [:D][tup] Bravo Zulu!

Beautiful job on the Super Bug, like the “turned-on” screens, and the Avenger in the background, the quality of your building makes me even more antsy to start my P.23B Karas and get it on the forums, perfect kit with a lot of extras thrown in by the Warsaw Model Center (check it out on www.wcm.com.pl), gonna be my first use of photoetched parts, first Polish airplane, first Polish model and first use of an airbrush!!![party] I’ll have picks on as soon as I can…

Good job on the build.
