1/48 Revell Mongram A-10 Warthog! Yay!

I’m building this devil’s spawn for the Revell Monogram GB (which you should definitely join) and jinithith2 told me to put it up here, too… so I did. Must… Obey… Jin…

Here’s some pics so far. I’m a newbie, so don’t be alarmed when you see some “less than perfect” quality work.

The office!

Here it is dry-fitted

The closed fuselage

And the engines

Woot!

Alright, I gotta let some glue set, so I will keep you guys posted. It’s pleh Revell Monogram so I bought 2 brand new tubes of putty! The camera I took this with is evil, so please excuse the blurs. Any constructive critisism (or however that’s speeled) is very welkome.

Great progress!!! Just remember to not mistake the green putty for mint or something… [:D]

too late. in case anyone at all out there is wondering, green putty does NOT taste like mint… or ice cream (which is what i thought it would taste like). see, this is why mommy only gives me safety hobby blades

shouldn’t you be dead by now…? or keeling over screaming for some anesthetizer?

oh yes, i dare say the pain is unbearable!

Nice clean pit, looks good!

Oh yah, and to anyone who has done this kit before:

there’s a big slot on the bottome of the plane; does anyone know what it’s for? it looks like it might be there the big external fuel tank hooks in, but i’m not sure.

the empty shell ejection port maybe? how far back is it?

Gota love the A-10’s

She’s looking good so for

Bud

sigh how come your more popular? My SR-71 is been up for a couple days (I think) and I still havent gotten as many reponses as you [;)]

Without seeing the slot you refer to I can’t be sure what it is. Could you possibly post a pic? It’s been awhile since I have looked at one of these. It is not a shell ejection port as the GAU-8 is a self contained unit. The empties are retained in the drum.

And, by the way, according to the A-10 experts the 1/48 Revellogram kit is the most accurate on the market.

The pit does look good. The pictures could be a little more in focus but, from what I can see, it looks good.

it’s definitely related to the kit construction. the slot is in the middle of the plane. it doesnt have to do with the wings because they’re inserted on the side. here’s some pics. i cant find anything in the instructions relating to it. maybe they’re denying its existance like area 51. except we all know that’s not real, right? RIGHT?!?!?

sorry for the blurry pics. i have a better camera somewhere else in the house but it’s out of action at the moment. if anyone wants to buy me a new, better, really expensive, gold-plated camera embeded with precious gems, please don’t hesitate to do so [:D]

nice progress. look forward to seeing it in real life hint hint

Oh thats the slot you are talking about? I know what that is for… not really, just wanted to mess with your head [:D]

Great looking progress, post more pics when your done!

It’s for the centre line weapons pylon station. It is a great looking kit when done. Take your time with the nose gear bay. If the parts shift while the glue is drying, it can mean having to re-do it. I speak from experience [V] Other than that, the only real fit problems are the gaps in the wing roots. Nothing a bit of card stock and some of that putty under your nose won’t fix[:P]

Good progress! I like the way you painted the cockpit, nicely done.[tup] Looking forward to seeing more.
