1/48 RAAF Mosquito PR16 completed (finally)

Here are a number of images of the 1/48 Tamiya PRIV/BIV kit converted to a RAAF PR16 Mosquito. It’s a combination of the CMK PR16 conversion and the exterior set by CMK with the Paragon PR16 canopy added on. All I can say about the CMK sets are that they take heaps of work as nothing realy fits - either too big or too small! For a more detailed build of it go to the link below:

Dave…very sharp lookingbuild. Well done. Don’t know why there aren’t more of those built. Such a beautiful plane.

Beauty, Dave!! Those mossies sure are neat planes. Top notch job

Nicely done Dave. Some silvering on the wing decals, so I assume you used the kit decals. I’ve had the same problem with the couple I’ve built.

Regards, Rick

Expertly finished, Dave! I have always liked those photo-recon birds in their overall blue paint. What paint did you use for this one? Thanks for sharing the photos!

Mate,

Great to see some RAAF planes being made, always a treat to see them online or in the mags. Fantastic looking model.

Very nice build. Enjoyed your pics, Bill.

G’day cobber, Bonzer paint job,

One question though, why would the wing root access panels be opened on the a/c? as I see no ‘user serviceable parts’ under there…

Frank, I used Humbrol PRU blue enamel for the kit.

Jon, I was wondering about that myself when I got the CMK set. But as I was doing a review on it I figured I better add the parts. I haven’t even found a picture of that area to see what is there and the colours.

Thanks for that,
I expect SOME-ONE with better refs will let us know…[:-^]

If memory serves (ie too lazy to find my refs) the radiators are in the wing roots ?

Lovely work here…love the colors and markings…only New Zealand a/c have prettier markings!

The Mossie turned out very well, despite your difficulties with the AM stuff.
