Hey guys, anyone know where I can get my hands on some good figures for a dio? I’ve got 1/48 Corsair that I’ll be putting on a “crushed coral” base and I want to make it look like there’s some last minute fiddling before the pilot hops in. I’ve got a bunch of P-61 figures and some from a few other set, but I was just wondering if there’s anything else that may work. Thanks!
Verlinden made a teriffic set of US Navy WWII figures. If you can find them they are well worth getting. Other than that I think there is a Hasegawa set of WWII pilots that has a couple of US Navy figures in it.
Many of the old Monogram kits (SBD, TBD, TBF) have great ground crew/flight deck figures. Several have been reissued by Revell recently. Also Eduard has does a set of USN ground crew in maintainence poses.
The figures will be based on land, and since the Navy guys have those funny little hats I doubt they’d do the trick. Do you think these guys from Verlinden might do the trick?
with some mods, they will do. Those are better for a Vietnam and since then era. Alter the basebll cap to the rounded crown style, and remove the cargo pockets from their pant legs. The white sailor caps are standard issue and woud be seen on Navy ground crew. For AAF PTO ground crew I thought Verlinden had a set similar to this that would work.
