1/48 p-47d bubbletop complete

Well I finally finished this build. It was a fun one. However, it was a little rushed with the school semester coming to an end. It was my first 1/48th aircraft and i cant ever see myself going back to 1/72. It was also my first try at a NMF using Alclad II and i loved it. The next go around with it will be much better now that I’ve had some practice with it. For those of you that havent followed the project at all, this is done up in fictional markings, for my girl ky. The name of the plane is “flyin’ Ky” a little play on words, the base letters are her initials, and the serial number is our aniversary date. The noseart and other custom decals were done by CustomHobbyDecals.com (shameless plug for me). Of course I broke off/lost the pitot tube and antena which seems to be par for the course on my last few builds. Overall i’m please with how this turned out.Criticisms and comments are more than welcome. You can see the rest of the build here

Enjoy

Great build and a neat custom decal job. I’ll bet she was gitty! My wife wants me to build one ‘for her’. Kinda keeps 'em off your back when you spend so much time at the bench! LOL

Nice work…

Andy

You did a great job on the NMF. I like the markings too, very creative, and convincing too.

Nice work on the Jug. The NMF & Invasion Stripes came out very well.

Regards, Rick

Very nice NMF looks good.

Beauty of a Jug, Steve. Very nice BMF from what I can see. And nice decals!

Very nice build. I like the custom decals, they look great!

Loos great- very nice work!

Thanks for all the kind words. Next up on the bench is a 1/48th P-40, as well as trying to walk a friend through the building of a 1/48th f-16. Its going to be his first model since he was really young, so it should be a fun project to tackle.
