I have seen several 1/48 scale german WWII mottle masks on the internet but they are always unavailable I have checked at my local hobby shop and they don’t know anything about them. Does anyone know where I can get a set of 1/48 scale WWII german mottle masks?
You can make your own, easy as pie. Take an index card and cut a small hole in it. Then, as you are airbrushing, hold the index card slightly away from the kit and spray through the hole. It’ll take some practice to get the hole size and distance right, but just think of all the money you’ll save: you get at least 100 tries to get it right for just a dollar!!
I just started building an FW190. My plan for the mottling is an index card with a few oddball shaped holes cut out of it. Then I can spray a few “mottles” ( [(-D] ), rotate the card and have a completely different pattern.
I actually received a set of really nice brass ones included in my Big Ed PE set for the Tamiya 1/48 FW-190D-9 from Eduard (was a gift). Eduard might package them separately from their Big Ed PE set (since they were included in their own packaging within the Big Ed set).
