1/48 Italeri C-130 prices?

Hi guys,

Quick question… what is the going rate for 1:48 Hercs second hand??

I’ve asked a friend and he reckons around the $120 mark?

I’ve found one here locally (South Africa)… and am hoping to see if I’m being taken for a ride with its price tho…

I am a 48 scaler and would like to build the Herc as serial number 401… C-130B… the aircraft my father was nearly shot down in, over Angola in 1986.

Any price suggestions… would be awesome!

You might try finding a Testors kit on Ebay. I’ve had the Testors kit in my stash for over twenty years just waiting for me to get to it.

I bought mine from Greatmodels a few years ago, so it was new and I paid almost $90 for it. I would say $120 in the secondary market is totally possible, and maybe even on the low side.

I bought the Italeri AC-130 kit a few years back for about $95.00 brand new. I agree that Ebay will be your best bet at finding one at a reasonable price. Personally, I wouldnt spend more than 100 bucks on another one...fit wasnt all that great for the price.

Ya, $100-ish is about what I’ve seen em going for. Can’t believe I passed a $10 opportunity on the Testors boxing, a couple years ago[:(DD]

anywhere from $80 to around $110 depending on where it’s bought. kit seems overpriced imo but i would love the build one.

I picked up the Drone Carrier in 1/48 scale for $30 at the last model show I attended in May.

Old Model Kits .com has one for 125.00. That’s about the right price for collectors’ kits… Problem is, most folks ain’t collectors… Truth be told, people are researching what the kits go for on the collector market and price the builder kits with that amount on Ebay…

Seriously high prices there for italeri kits, you have a particular tax on imported kits??
