Hi guys. I am hoping for a bit of help?! I finished my hurricane ages ago so its all painted and glued, the problem is that about a week ago I knocked it off its display place and broke offone of the wheel struts and the rudder wheel, now I want to turn it into a crash scene but not token sure how to go about it. Any help with this would be fantastic.
If you want to crash it, I think bent propellers would look credible and probably opened canopy with the side door opened. that is just for a start. I saw a site then about crashed aircrafts and there was one spit stuck in the mud…
What is the best way to bend the props?
Heat in hot water, almost boiling, then bend back and give it a slight twist at the tip with a pliers.
Or if you have a soldering iron, place it close to (but not touching!!!) where you want the bend in the prop to be.

Just twist it in the correct direction. I believe the RR Merlins turned Counter clockwise if you were looking at it towards the front.
Is there any way that I can split down the prop and nose cone? As like I said it is already finished and panted!!!
If it was super glued on to begin with, yes. If cemented in place with solvent glue, no…You might have to cut it off with a razor saw and re-paint some areas.
Before you start bending the prop better check whether it is has a Hamilton Standard or Rotol one. The former was metal & would bend. The latter was wooden & would splinter. The wooden Rotol blades are broader than the metal ones to look at. See www.ipmsusa3.org/…/qb_72_hurricane-parts.htm
How do I go about making bullet and flak damage?
Ideally you would want to thin the plastic down from the inside where you want the hole so it is closer in thickness to the aluminium skin & then use a pin to create a bullet hole. Not an option as your Hurricane is built so you will risk an out of scale thickness for the holes.
Flak damage would be a larger hole & more jagged. I have seen some people use foil to simulate jagged metal.
On a Hurricane the area behind the cockpit was covered with doped fabric so there wouldn’t be any jagged metal there.
