Many of you are familiar with Hasegawa’s 1/48 Hawker Hurricane and is consider the best in the market. This particular release is no exception. The box art has always attracted me to this racer version, the MK IIC. I finally pulled the trigger and was not disappointed. Nearly all parts come together like a Rolex. The hard plastic and engineering of each piece is impressive. The special racing exhaust pipes are the only metal pieces and when painted really come to life. The only place I used filler was on the belly where the bottom wing meets the fuselage. I loved all the detail in the cockpit, but once she’s closed up, you really can’t see much of it. With that being the case, I preferred to have the canopy in the closed position. She also looks better with the canopy closed; the beautiful lines are not interrupted this way. Here again, this was 95% OOB build. I only added brake lines, landing lights, and wing tip navigation lights. I found that Tamiya X-4 blue was a good match when viewed in direct sunlight. The decals are a tad thick, but behaved quite nicely with a touch of Micro Set. If you are looking for a unique Hurricane to compliment your collection, I highly recommend this kit as it’s a delight to build and makes a beautiful eye-catching aircraft. Please enjoy the pics.
