Does the kit have the rounded off nose camera doors or the flatter/angular ones? I worked on both types and would like to find a kit wih the rounded off ones.

I don’t know what is different with the cockpits,
but it does have 3 different sets of instrument panels, so
there might be a set that would work for you.

The bottom of the camera nose IS one of the round
versions, I know what your talking about, as I also worked
on both, although the,flat/angular one, was more common at BAFB.
The cool thing about the camera windows in the bottom of the
nose, is that they are all molded into one large piece, that
forms the whole underside of the nose. When installed and painted,
they will have a seamless appearance.[^]

Thanks for the link, very interesting reading!
No, I don’t have another Hasegawa F-4 kit to compare with.
I, myself, don’t get that hung-up on the cockpit detail, as I
model all mine with the canopy closed, and that works for me.

I was with the 67th EMS,67th TRW, Corrosion Spec.,where
I painted our aircraft out of hanger 1609, and alot of touch-up
paint jobs, out of hanger 1610, the big B-52 hanger, remember?
I was there from 4-84 to 9-87.
Yeah all the Hasegawa Phantoms have the same cockpits that is why the resin cockpits are so popular. They really add a sense of reality that is not there. I have three F-4 cockpits from Black Box and they are all completely different. I have an E, J, and even the RF-4, cockpit that I bought with the nose conversion prior to the release of the Hasegawa RF-4’s. Enjoy the build and good luck with it.
