I’m seriously looking for some constructive opinions regarding my 1:48 scale Fw190D9. Typically an armor modeler I’ve recently taken up building aircraft (this is my first in quite awhile), and enjoy this genre of the hobby immensely. Let me know what you think …
Thanks for the comments! This is Tamiya’s D-9 built basically OOB, with Aeromaster decals and painted totally with Vallejo Model Color acrylics. I also used artists oils and pastels for weathering while replacing the gun tubes with Minimecca stainless.
Looks really good. Pics seem a little stark with the white background. One suggestion I would make if you are interested in modeling another Dora, the ‘blown’ canopy did not have a tensioner for the antenna wire, it should be depicted “slack” with an open canopy.
Hey, thanks for the comments, guys. Steve, nice pick-up on the antenna. I had noticed some 190’s with and without, so now I understand why! It’s not too late to correct this model so where did I put that monofilament …?
Looks great, in fact it probably looks better than that dragon 190 I’ve been fighting with for the past 2 months. your decals went down nice, they blend well with the finish.
I like the way you painted the camo patches on the fusalge sides, it really looks like it was quickly applied just to get the plane out into active service.
I’d like to see some more close up pictures of the actual exhaust, fusalage / LHS wing root though…any chanse to post some…?
