…or a suitable sub. Without buying a whole B-17 to scavenge a ball turret…I cannot locate a add-on piece. Will a modified TBM turret sub?

Koster makes an excellent PB4Y-1 conversion for the B-24. Check it out.
The ERCO turret and the B-17/B-24 ball turrets are not at all the same. The closest relative is the Martin ball turret in the nose of the PBM.

I was asking to find out if there was an aftermarket turret and/or get opinions on converting a Sperry turret etc.
Many years ago I might have scratch built one from a rubber ball and some sheet…but I’m too old for that stuff now LOL!

I found a 1/48 ERCO turret kit made by “Attic Models” a few years ago, when I started collecting parts for my PB4Y-1 project. Nice little item, resin & clear parts for turret, you supply the .50’s. I don’t know if this item is readily available anymore. I’ll check the stash to see if I can get an item number for you. This ball turret is definitely NOT like that on a B-17!
