That is a nice build you’ve got there. I especially like the exhaust staining you’ve done. Very well executed. Sounds like were are close to the same age. I hear what you are saying because I think it’s time for reading glasses for the Mk I eyeballs. [8-|]

Hey BB,
I really like your build and your attention to detail is spot on…!! Even more so, I like the fact that your building a a/c that your wife’s Grandfather shot down!! Definitely a nice touch.
My uncle had a similar deal when he shot down a 109… His 17 was down for repairs so he and another crew member went up with another ship from his squadron.
He got the “offical” kill claim but the score tally stayed with that ship… Again sweet build and thank you for sharing…

It has been a learning experience for me and the Family as Bill never talked about it much. I have been talking to the radio man who flew 31 missions with Bill, so I’m getting stories that none of the Fam knows, till now. Well, IMO, the weathering is too harsh…the “yellow eight” is too thin…most of the numbers at this stage were “fatter”…Overall, a nice looking build…
Manny the 8 my be a little to thin looked thicker when it was on the page, Oh well, as to the weathering, the more something is used the more it weathers and I have seen photos were they were weathered even more than I depict. But thanks for the crit., I’ll keep it in mind!
