I started this build as a dual build with the Tamiya E3 kit just to see the differences. It was purchased as an Overtrees kit which means there were no canopy masks, decals or PE but it was significantly cheaper. I think around $20. Anyway, I painted pretty much everything except the stencils - which are HGW wet transfers. I’ve had varied success with them as some seem to work great and other want to come off with the carrier you remove. I used MRP for the camo and markings. It is again a sort of, probably was to some extent aircraft. I really made it as a memorial build for my late German Shepherd, Apollo, who passed away last summer at 14.5.
Enjoy, critique, laugh at it, whatever.
Yep - canopy needs some work. (Thanks for the tip Hoss, I’ll try it next time.)
Yep - I know the wheels are jacked up… on the list of things to fix.
Thanks, Tojo! I’m glad you like it. I do too, but I have no problem pointing out mistakes I’ve made. Mostly lessons learned and things that I may do differently (or remember to do) next time. The next one I do I’m gonna have to push my weathering comfort zone because I feel a little stuck right now - afraid of making a paint mule out of a decent build, if ya know what I mean.
Pretty sharp. Youre right about those HGW transfers. When they work they are wonderful . I just had a bad sheet for my Corsair build. I got new ones and they performed perfectly. Go figure.
