Well here is the latest 109 build that I finished. I think if there is one kit where anything can go wrong, this one was it:) I learned a lot from the build. Here is what I did wrong/didn’t work out:
- Carpet monster ate the pitot tube under the wing.
- The struts under the elevators placed per the pin holes gave a odd angle so I have to cut a section out of each, grhh.
- Canopy cannot be displayed open as it is one piece, and it is too narrow for the fuselage…
- The canopy masking is still sloppy and was not that great a result.
- I over weathered her.
- I put the side cross on the left too low and lost station marker decal number 5.
- I placed the side decals in full and the long decals silvered a bit. I should have cut them into two smaller pieces and placed them.
- I have some gaps along the leading and side edges of the wings that I didn’t get sealed up very well.
I think I thought this would be an easy build as I wanted to do the splinter scheme and I didn’t pay attention to the rest of the build. Well; modeling is fun!
Again, excuse the poor photography.
