1/48 B-24J Dragon And His Tail Decals

Does anyone know where I might find a decal sheet in 48th scale depicting the Dragon And His Tail (44-44052)? Correct me if I’m wrong, I seem to remember Superscale released this sheet some time ago, but I’ve unsuccessfully searched high and low. If anyone knows where or how I can get one, I’d appreciate the information.

Cheers,

You are looking for sheet no. 48-37. I didn’t see it in the Squadron listing. I didn’t look anywhere else. I don’t know if it can be ordered. Good luck.

I’ve seen the decals on e-bay a couple of times. I don’t remember what the winning bidders paid?

Jim

Dodn’t know if you are still interested? But, I just saw a Monogram 1/48 B-24J and “The Dragon and His Tail” decals on e-bay.

last set of decals for “The Dragon and His Tail” that I saw went for $50.00. For that price you can supply pictures to Mike Grant Designs and have a better quality set made than Superscale ever dreamed of.

In the past I’ve sold two Microscale/Stupidscale 48th “Dragon and His Tail” sheets on eBay and I’m shocked at what some folks will pay for a freaking decal sheet. LMAO

Y’know, alotta guys like Mike Grant’s decals. Every time I’ve seen them on a built-up they’ve failed to impress me. Matter of fact, they’ve disappointed me in a big way. (Last one I saw was a 79 Sqn Hawk) The artwork is absolutely excellent, but the printing was done in half-tones which just plain looks really bad on a model. Is this simply a limitation of the ALPS printers?

Fade to Black…

I have the decals if you like I can make a scan of it and email it to you.

Juan

Hi Juan,

Can you still scan the decals? I ask because I have the same problem and I cant find them anywhere.thanks!

Cristian

Chrstain,

OK! Just send me your email address and I will send it to you.

Juan

FIFTY BUCKS !!! Holy crap!! I went to a show here in Spartanburg, South Carolina last month and a vendor had a ton of old Microscale decals including two sets of The Dragon and His Tail marked at $8 each! I even thought about getting a set for a future build.

That’s what the ALPS does unless you blend layers of spot colors. Not all colors, especially light greys, are easy to make with the spot color method, and may end up dithered, which is what you are seeing.

send me an email address where I can send the scanned file to you.

Juan

Hi Juan.

I’ve just sent you my email address via conversations. Confirm me if you got it.

Thanks!

Cristian
