Went to get my car SMOG checked this morning and instead of waiting in the office lobby I walked over to the LHS (across the street).[:D] Had to wait a couple minutes for them to open but I wasn’t in a hurry. Walked in just to browse around and kill time but what do I see…Hasegawa’s 1/48 A-4M. Best part…I got it cheaper than I would have with online sale price![tup] Two deals in the past couple days…I like this![:D] They even had more 1/48 Academy CH-46Es for just under $40. Before they were selling them for $45+ and couldn’t keep them on the shelves. The tally for the past 72 hours:
(1) 1/48 Revell F-15E @ 50% off
(1) 1/48 Hasegawa A-4M @ ~ 25% off
You never know what you’ll find.[:D]
Dragonfire,
Is it (A-4M) finished yet?[:D]
WOW very impressive…I ogle at my A-4M to remind me I still need to practice.Did you get the kit with the photo etch? Just curious ,I got mine on E-bay a while back, prob payed way to much, but none of the LHS’s had it around here. Anyway …I’m jelous !!
Later On…
Where is your LHS? It sounds like I need to visit there. The only place around here with deals like that is Hobby Lobby when they have their 40 or 50% off sales about twice or three times a year. The problem with them is the selection is miniscule. [alien]
Wild Weasel…
Alas…it’s still on the sprues in the box. [:(] With the start of a new job and lots of travelling, I haven’t had time to start on any of the new kits I received.
Know watcha mean. I travel quite a bit myself (3000 - 4000 miles per month on my Dodge Dakota [it has 163,000 on it, and it’s only a 2001 model]), so my models take a while to get built. I’m leaving again for a week tomorrow morning, and was considering taking along a model to work on while I’m away, but, the last time that I tried that, things got broken… beyond repair. So, accordingly, I’m a bit apprehensive about trying it again. Good Luck on your new job, Devil Dog!!
Hey, Dragonfire, good to see you can still find the deals. I would have done the same thing, I hate waiting for things, especially when theres a LHS nearby calling to me…
I’ve been wanting to get one of those A-4s, you’ll have to let me know how it goes together when you get a chance.
I was just at HobbyLand in Fort Wayne, Indiana, today (28 Dec 2004) browsing during lunch, and they have the new Hasegawa A-4M for $24.99!!! Not bad, huh? Too bad I already have it (paid $26.99 for mine, darn it). Oh well. Too bad I don’t live in Ft. Wayne. This HobbyLand (it’s part of the HobbyLand based in Mishawaka, IN) is pretty decent as far as kit selection and prices go.
And, I did actually bring a kit with me to build. Selected the Tamiya M2A2 Bradley to build, as it has a lot of stuff that can be glued without pre-painting. Hopefully, I won’t break anything before I get it home…
Hey Lemon:
I live near the same LHS you do and picked one up there for about $30.00 I think. He also has one on the shelf there now, but if not he can order you one and get it to ya on the following Thursday.
Are you tempted yet???
