1/35th scale pierced steel plating

Hello and God bless all here[:)]

This is my first time on the forum, and I need your help and/or guidance. I need some 1/35th scale pierced steel plating to use under my M102 howitzer in a diorama. Can anyone tell me where I can get some,or how to make it on my own?

Thank you in advance-Gunsmith

P.S. I don’t type,so my replies will be very slow

I read slow so your typing slow is not a problem lol an idea for you pierced metal,if its expanded sheet metal like catwalk material you could try to take a sheet of thin styrene and draw a grid on the back at an angle to the edge then where the line intersect take a straight pin and push it thru,i would use a soft but firm material(corkboard,or another piece of thicker styrene) “x” marks the spot. that may give you the perferations and tread pattern your looking for. For bullet holes or battle damage thin the back of your part with a motor tool on low speed then poke it with a #11 blade to give the impression or a round going thru. Finally if cash isn’t an issue there is probably a generic photoetch plate out there somewhere.hope this helps happy modelling.

Look for some 1/32 scale PSP or AM-2 matting as it would be close enough, or you could make lyour own from styrene and a drill press.
