Those are really nice looking kits. Did you order them from Dragon direct, or pick them up at your LHS? I’m digging the paint scheme on the box for the Stug.

Hmmm, I wonder why they do that?? Now are they going to start coming out with “collectable box tops” where you have to buy 3 or 4 copies to get the full set?? Oh, the concept boggles!!

Doesn’t the Stug come with PE and a metal barrel?? Are there any extra goodies in the King?

Hey okieboy! Neither, actually. I’m just passing on the pics of the build-ups from Dragon’s website. I’d love to read comparison build-ups between the Dragon and Tamiya Tiger II’s. I built and loved the Tamiya Tiger II, which is actually a rather old kit by now, comparatively speaking to things like the Marder and Wespe and other really exquisite newer panzer kits.

So, anybody? How does the Tamiya Tiger II hold up?

God, I want that new Stug. Allready spent my budget for this month though. Ah well, I can allways wait a little longer. Plus that big Morser kit is finally due to arrive in August. Better save my pennies for that [:)]

Looking forward to seeing the King Tiger; Padawan (who I work with) and I are planning on building a Dragon King Tiger each; one Porsche, one Henschel. They are reasonably priced here.

The Tiger II is on my to get list. Lots of goodies. I’m helping my son build the Tamiya production turret King Tiger and it goes together pretty nicely. Way better kit than the real old one.

I am in the middle of the Dragon Henschel Tiger… It’s pretty nice, but I don’t like their indy links… I ended up using Friulmodel tracks…

Tamiya’s Stug III Ausf G (Early Version), kit # 35197, offers the choice of building it as a Stug with a 7.5cm gun or as a SturmHaubitz (assault howitzer) with a the 10.5 cm gun. About the only real difference between building the two is the barrel options. The 7.5 cm barrel is longer and a bit narrower than the 10.5 cm barrel.

Yes the stug does come with goodies there is pics of the spures in the stug,sturm GB thread. however the tiger 2 only comes with PE grills. from what I can see the molding looks much better than tamiyas…I have not built either dragon tiger2, built the tamiya and loved it,I have the dragons on the shelf in line with alot of others I got from trading off my wingy thingies. Cant make up my mind on what to build .Need to clone myself soI can do multiple kits.[:D][:D]

I got DML’s tiger 2 with porshe turret and so far, so good. But I took one look at the treads and they have “need some AM treads” written all over them…
