I just saw where Bronco Models has come out with this kit. Wonder if it is the same as the Gallery Models kit?
It is not the same as the Gallery Models kit. The soon to be released Revell kit is the Gallery however.
I just saw that also, I have the Gallery. I see that the Bronco has 2 MH-53E instead of the CH-53…being a former MH-53 pilot, I am envious of this, but saw the aftermarket kits allow for the MH to be built. Wonder if there is a huge difference between them
The MH-53E had the larger fuel tanks/sponsons on the fuselage the CH-53E had the smaller ones
Say what you will, in my unsolicited opinion, the AEM/S masts look downright ugly on these ships. I know they reduce the radar signature and whatnot, but detract from the overall good lines on this class of ships. I suppose that it was a good thing that the USN didn’t ask me what I thought of them before they approved the things. [:#][N]

Amazing how things come full circle. See any commonality between the ships of today compared to the ships of 1864? The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Now instead of deflecting incoming artillery, they deflect radar beams.
I was actually referring more about differences between the Bronco and Gallery USS New York…I do miss flying thr MH, actually flew the MH-53 onto the USS New York in 2010.
I actually do believe they are the same kit since Trumpeter is the one producing the kits in the first place and Gallery/Academy is distributing them. Too bad Trumpeter isn’t releasing the 1/700 scale aircraft and vehicle kits as seperate items to purchase like the 1/350 scale aircraft and vehicle sets are.
The Bronco kit is a cooperative venture with Dragon/Cyber-Hobby and is a different kit than the Trumpeter kit. The Trumpeter kit is also marketed as Gallery, Revell, and Academy.
guess I’ll go with the Gallery/Academy. I’ve got their version of the USS Wasp and I like it pretty well, so, we’ll see! Thanks all!
That,s nice . Now I have to save up again . I am about finished with the 1/700 kit and whatta pain that was. I only buy that scale if it is NOT available in 1/350 . Now ,I gotta buy another kit . Darn ! tankerbuilder
