I used good 'ol TESTOR’s brand - 1233 Flat Light Aircraft Gray. I don’t have plans on texturing the walkways with anything else, really…
After looking at another few builds of this same section, I realized I like my build, but I have a few more tweaks to put on it… namely, the photo etchings from that awesome PARAGRAFIX kit.
The Paragrafix kit is money well spent. It really kicks up the level of detail through the entire build. I would have loved to have found the PNT fret as well, if only for the couple of details not included in the PG frets. But, you’re right, the build is a lot of fun! I can recommend the DLM detail kits as well. I worked alongside Don Mathys for a few years and I can truthfully attest that his skills as a pattern maker are equal to his knowledge of all things Star Trek. Take a look at his kits to correct the engines and the replacements for the work bees and travel pods! Wonderful detailing!
Yes…when I spoke with the Paragrafix owner awhile back, he said that his kit pretty much includes EVERYTHING I would need. I just need to get around to ordering it…

Ok…so now I am stoked about the hangar bay! I think I would like to use the $50.00 resin kit instead of the original one now. Thank you so much for sharing!
That shuttlebay is pretty slick. Arthur Pendragon did a bang-up job on the master. The bay is intended for use on the NCC-1701-A version of the Enterprise and he has everything modelled very faithfully to what you see on-screen in the movies. The version provided in the kit is accurate for the refit Enterprise featured in the first two motion pictures and the PG etch really helps to make it much more accurate. One of these days, I’m going to have to pick up another Enterprise so that I can play around with the DLM hangar…the clear resin walls and ceiling has got to make lighting so much easier than my approach with the kit parts!
