I’m reading a fantastic book called Spearhead by Adam Makos,I believe it was recommended by someone here.It has lots of personal accounts including of the Pershing crew that knocked out the Panther at Cologne.So now I need to build one, or at least stash it,so what are the best 1/35 available

Tamiya makes a very nice 1/35 Pershing, probably the best in the scale. Have one of those in my stash. Hobbyboss makes some good ones as well, including the one off up gunned and up armored Super Pershing. And then the old Dragon Pershings are nice as well. I’ve built both their T26E3 and M26A1 kits.

Agree, fantastic book. There is a build article in FSM a few months ago on building the M26 from the book.
I have this boxing, 89692, which also includes the Assault Infantry figure set. The kit offers several marking option including various WWII ones and one USMC Korea as well.
I’ve built Tamiya’s 35254 and it is a nice kit and looks great. BTW, I just got my copy of Spearhead today in the mail and can’t wait to start it. It’s been on my wanted list for a while now. The Pershing is one of my favorites. Wish it had made it to the ETO a lot earlier than it did.
Great book, I read it last year. I’ve built a a couple of the Tamiya Pershing kits and really like them. All they need to be WWII correct is to remove the reinforcing ribs from the back of the final drive housings and to leave off the infantry phone on the back. I also have a pair of period-correct final drives from the NEW TMD in resin, very nice parts.
35319 is the Super Pershing. I’m not sure that was the one at Cologne. Just a handful of those were built and saw some combat during trials in Germany.
Either of the Tamiya kits would be great as they are outstanding kits and easy to build. They even do a 1/48 scale one as well.
