1/35 VOSPER

as i swore starting anything new until next year, i am revisiting this. o am doing a 1/35 LCVP in british camo (pale green, white and black (or dark gray) and am thinking doing this the same way. i built the MAS with the stripes and splinter camo and it turned out nice. on the VOSPER everthing is gray and, even with 3 slightly different shades, it is still boring. anybody know if any VOSPERs other than st nazaire were camo’ed?

Well I dont know squat about the Vosper MTBs, but it appears there was some disruptive camo schemes applied… but I do not know RN colors

yes i have the squadron book too. still have some building before painting.

I have no idea what photos are in that book. But that bottom pic that I found looks pretty cool. Certainly not boring.

it is an interesting scheme. hope i didn’t come across as ungratiful. BTW what are you doing in a boat forum? that’s like me in the airplane forum though i may end up in the auto forum if i offer up a truck GB (civilian and military)

Not at all friend. I always look to see “latest posts” and seeing Vosper MTB drew me in. Like I said, I know almost nothing of these things. And I do build the occasional sea vessel on here as well  Good luck finding me in Autos though (dont tell anyone, but I have a few in the stash… )

i have a '67 shelby mustang (as close as i will get to owning one), a lemans car, an F1, and, dare i say it, a motorcycle.

Saay : Din’t youse knoe them motorized byke tingys was dangerlous ? He! He!

my only experience was a harley which i drove for 5 seconds before slamming into a battalion maintenance bay door and dumping it on my leg. at least it wasn’t pointed the other way or i would atill be in the dead track pile at the end of B company’s tank line.

since i am doing a 3 color british scheme for my LVCP think i will do the same scheme on this just for fun. saw the pe set for it but it cost more than the model.

Can’t tell you much about camo schemes I’m afraid, but the Vosper is one lovey bit of machinery!

Put some pics up when you get going please.

Warship Perspectives did a four volume set on the Royal Navy about a dozen years ago. In volume four, there is mention that in the India/Burma campaign there could be found some unofficial camou styles, many being one-off affairs. Unfortunately, the author states he has the least information on these.

Jack

hi jack

thanks for the info

I too have the Vosper kit. What I would like to see is some crew figures like were produced for the Schnellboot, PT 109 and the Italian “PT” boat.

me too. i have figures for the other 3 and have build the MAS and have a second set of figures for that. just a couple show the size of the boat. also some british crewmen for LCMs and LCVPs.
