I’m currently working on an M109A6 Paladin for a friend. When completed, it will be displayed as if it were on a firing point at AT. Does anyone out there know where I can find a 1/2 dozen 1/35 scale US Army duffle bags? Going to mount them in the bustle baskets.
Verlinden has a set out now with modern bags and packs in it, and Tamiya has done a plastic set for the M2 or M113 (It could be used with anything modern) that has duffels bags, sleeping bags, alice packs etc. Or if all you want is duffels, you could mold some of your own out of putty.

IS your friend in the guard or reserves?
I know most of use either try to keep our bags inside the bussel rack or if we have to put them outside, we place them inside a tarp and use ratchet straps to secure them down. but most of this is usually up to the command for our guns and they really don’t care it seems so we keep them dry and inside.
Hope some of this helps?
I’ve placed a lot of ref pics on ron georges site if you need ref material.
I can cast some of the bags for you if you want.
I just thought of a good one, it might work ?
get some JB weld and make the bags from it, if you don’t like the shape just file it to a shape you do like?

We had some Kansas guardsmen in our community last year, you might not have made the trip as I noticed they were here when I got back from Kosovo in Nov.
Another cheap way to do duffle bags is to use the printed foil from cigarette packs… I cut the pull off piece to size, wrap it around an exacto knife handle, fold and glue the bottom and sides, add strips for the shoulder straps, fill it with sculpey or whatever to form and weight it, and then paint it; The good thing about cigarette foil is that it is usually embossed in a kinda fabric pattern, which is great for drybrushing over the base color…
Also, forming them individually this way eliminates the “cookie cutter”, identically molded look you will find from AM stuff…
