hey all,
finally getting close to finishing this thing after 4 1/2 months, so I figured I would show some pics. Its built OOB. I put all the track together, so I have 5 feet of it, and added a dragon flatcar behind it. Its got a stack of ammo boxes and a few MG positions.None of the crew are done yet (the wife is doing them, and there still bare plastic).Well enought alk, heres some pics, comments welcome.
I do have to admit, when I opened the box I was a little scared, I dont think I have ever done a kit this big, there are over 200 pieces in the trucks per car alone!!! I do have to admit I enjoyed it though[}:)]
Beautiful piece of work Jim. It certainly takes a bit of courage to bite off that monster, but the results are pretty impressive. Thanks for sharing an excellent build with us. Semper Fi, mike
yeah, it does take alot of courage!!! This is only my 6th armour kit ever, and was wandering if I was ready for this one. The thing went together very well though. I only made one mistake, but figured out a solution for that so It didnt go too bad.
Thanks for the good input, its always welcome.

Looks good, I have looked at this kit many times at the hobby shop but haven’t commited to it yet, I know it will be fun if I ever decide to go for it.
A mighty fine job there. Looks like 4 1/2 months very well spent. Congratulations! Now you should go that last step and build some kind of clear cover for it so there isn’t any possiblity to getting it damaged.
hey all,
gdarwin, if you do the track per the instructions its only a little over 3 feet, but i put all the rail together so it comes up to about 5 feet.

fantastic work. really spectacular. its funny because my brother just got the academy blackhawk model and when he opened it up and i saw all the pieces, i didnt envy his task. i knew i could never have the patience to put that together.
Hey all,
1/2 off!!! I think im gonna move to omaha :D.
I ve been thinking about that Karl kit also, but i have a Whiskey cobra to finish, and a dragon wagon to do, then maybe another tank thingie.
As for building an addition, it does have its own shelf in the bedroom. I am so glad I bought the trumpiter kit instead of the dragon kit.
Very nice work on the monster! I particularly like the way you’ve weathered/detailed the loading and crew areas. And you did the finish in panzer gray to boot! [tup]
Alot is different bettween the two kits. the trumpeter is alot more detailed in everyway, they also differ in scale, the dragon is bigger so Im not sure which one is correct, the trumpeter has a more complex suspension ,all the way around the trumpeter is better, more expensive but worth every penny. If you are into the karl the trumpeter is also much better, to make either dragon kit correct there will be some work invoved.
