Nice work, Joe. The road wheels for tanks is kind of like masking a bunch of glass panes on a greenhouse canopy such as on many German bombers. Tedious and maybe even boring.
You’re moving right along and your Panther progress is looking great. I really like how the texture turned out.
Thanks Christopher. I know…right?
LOL!!! I know.
Thanks for the good comments Steven.
The texture thing was a whole new technique for me. Thank you buddy.
I installed the wire screens over the air/ radiator intakes and am scratch building a retaining device for a spare road wheel. Here’s the start of all of that as well as showing off the screen work.
Looks like real rough cast steel. That’s impressive. I’m going to try that.
That’s a nice little detail Joe.
Nice work and idea on that wheel retaining device. I always like it when I get an idea to add something to a model.
Thanks fellas ! @Cbowling …I had no idea about that method either but after trying it out I found that it wasn’t that hard to apply.
After I took a second look at the spare road wheel retainer, I just didn’t feel right about it …so…I added a little something to the mix.

Nice progress. Hard to believe this is your first armor build but then again you’re a Black Belt at static plastic karate
I can’t believe I missed this build from the beginning.
I’m just taking this one slow Bob and thank you for tagging along. The Tammy kit isn’t the most accurate or detailed out kit out there but it sure is an easy build and that’s what I needed so I could concentrate most of my attention on skillsets needed to pull off convincing looks.
Black Belt at static plastic karate.
Looking good Joe! Don’t worry about that hole you had to drill for the jig…you can use the hole to attach the Panther to the diorama base with a screw (getting closer & closer to that diorama build)
Cheers,
C.
