This kit was built by my wife almost two years ago.She lost interest in it,so I figured I’d finish it up with paint and weathering.

I love the chipping, but it seems a bit excessive? Would there be bare metal like that or would there be some rust? Yeah I know it’s in the desert, but unlike the tracks, those areas would be continually exposed and one would think still rust. I’m no expert, so I could be wrong. I still love your build though. Thanks for sharing it.
Looks very cool the weathering is nice and dusty i like the chip effect did you just draw on the paint with the pencil (sounds too easy for a nice result like that heh) this is something i have to try, looks good all round 
tigerman- Some of the chipping may be excessive,but this was also an experiment to see how it looked.My main goal was to get in a bit of practice.BTW,I’ve seen far worse paint on mid '90’s GM cars.They had a serious problem with their paint.I did avoid any rust effects due to it operating in the desert.
biffa- The dusty effect was achieved with Tamiya weathering powders.This was almost a disaster.The clearcout sealer darkened the first layer of powder.Normally it lightens it up.It brought out every brush stroke and water spot that were invisible prior to the clearcoat.I never had that happen before.I almost freaked!
I used a lighter powder to make the save.I just kept brushing it on and working it around til, I was happy with the result.I used no clearcoat this time.
As for the chipping,it is as simple as drawing on the paint.Careful handling of the model is called for.

Very carefully! If I remember right, I just held mine in my fingers and drilled starting with a hand pin drill and eventually used a dremel to clean the hole up. Very carefully.
