1/35 Tamiya DAK Sdkfz 232 Complete!

I built this for the 8x8 Group Build.I used Tamiya Dark Yellow spray over Tamiya German Grey spray. This is my first attempt at chipped paint using the salt method for the larger patches and a whole loy of chipping away with the back end of an X-Acto blade.I dirtied it up with Tamiya weathering powders.

Great Work. Kinda dark pics though. Ya think we could get some brighter light so I can really see the details we all know you worked so hard on.

I’m trying to figure out the damn camera. My bench is plenty bright, but a lot of pics come out with that damn yellow tinge.I thought the white background would help correct that. Some times it works. It’s getting really irritating.

Yep TD my camera does that too, purple or blue sometimes.[banghead]

I was looking at some real photos just this morning of those and they look like an armored RV bus.[:D] Of coarse yours is a great looking bus.[tup]

Very nicely done [tup]. The pics don’t do it justice, but the weathering looks very realistic.

Check your camera instruction manual for setting White Balance. Looks like your camera is set for daylight & you’re using tungsten for lighting.

Nice, very very nice!

Where’d you get the net?

Nice work TD! Rick has you pointed in the right direction. What your camera is “seeing” in terms of the lighting is getting adjusted in the pics, making them darker than they should be as a result.

It’s gauze soaked with some thinned out Elmers glue, rolled up and painted when dry.

I’m gonna have to re-read the instructions on the camera.I can never predict what results I’m gonna get.

Thanks for the props and pointers fellas.

Oh now I’m gonna have to try that too…

Thanks!

Nice work overall. It’s too bad your pictures are too small and underlighted. I’d suggest you try taking pictures outdoor during daytime.

Click on the pic to enlarge it.I have plenty of light at the bench, the pics just come out weird some times.

This pic was taken in just about the same place. No yellow tinge in this one.

I love the chipping effect, gonna have to try that salt method! Turned out great looking!!
