1/35 DML FlakPanzer IV KugelBlitz DONE!

Here’s my entry for the 1,000 Road Wheels GB.

This is like a bus service, wait ages nothing happening and then two come along together.

TD4438, looks great, really nice work going on there, congrats on a cool build.

Terry.

Sweet another KugelBlitz!![;)] TD4438, love the ambush camo scheme on your AA gun, makes it look entirely different then Bish’s.[tup][8D]

Turned out great TD4438!!! I still did the camo, I’m glad that you stuck with it.

These are pretty tough looking tanks! You did a great job with it. Whats the scoop on these, were they actually fielded during the war? The have a somewhat modern look to them

Turned out great! How was the kit?

Really nice, TD! Great paint and all the parts look well-finished!

Thanks. The kit wasn’t bad at all.The tracks were a pain to work with and the instuctions were very vague at times, but nothing a little experience wouldn’t get you around. Some of the parts, when placed exactly according to the instructions, would have made the build impossible to complete.

According to the vehicle history in the instructions, some were built but it’s not known if they saw action.I must admit I didn’t research the vehicle myself.

The turret was originally designed for the new advanced type XXI U-Boats the Germans were planning. In was then decided to use in in a new AA tank. They decided on the Pz IV and were going to replace the Wirbelwind with the Kugelblitz. One problem was that the turret was to big for the Pz IV turret houseing, so i believe they replaced it with the turret race from Tiger I’s. It’s believed a couple were built and they may have taken part in the battle for Berlin, but as with these paper panzers, nothing is certain, and none servived the war.

I need to get my glasses checked. I swear I just ommented on one of these[;)] Nicley done for sure. Like that camo.

Thanks for the kind words fellas. This may surprise you wing_nut,but until the build was completed,I hated the camo.I’m still not thrilled with it,but overall I’m happy with this bad boy.
