1/32 Trump Su-27 Flanker

Hi everybody,
this is my long lasting project so far, but I hope I’ll finish it till April next year. There will be alot of extra sets in this model, like Aires exhaust, cockpit, wheel bay, Zactomodels intakes, canopy set and nose, Linden hill decals and stencils.
hope you like it.

Wow…it looks like you are paying a great deal of attention to the little details…Great looking build so far!

Wow now thats some attention to detail.

That’s a beaut!! I’m waiting on a 1/32 flanker myself, but haven’t ordered the Aires wheelbays yet (they’re out of stock most places). What’s the quality of the kit been like so far, and the accessories? Since it’s a slightly older kit, I’ve seen fewer accessories available for this one, and I’m still debating what to purchase. And what’s up with the metal engine? Where did that come from? Man, this is really making me excited to get going on my flanker. Just started on 1/32 aircraft, and my 1/48 projects are totally neglected now as I love the larger scale. Please send updates as you go. Jon

WOW! Great looking build so far, Mr Narita has also built this kit and you can see his how to guide here.

Thanks all !!

Hi Jon,
there are six most important updates for this kit, Zactomodels canopy, intake and nose, Aires exhaust, wheel bays and cockpit. If You ask me, they are a bit pricey, but are worth every penny.
I would advise You to consider using Zactomodels all three sets, cause there are three major mistkes on this kit: totaly wrong canopy shape, nose and intakes that has nothing to do with Su-27 nose and intakes. Zactomodels set fix it all and adds about 200% details. If You can not buy all six sets, than buy Zactomodels rather than aires.
Engine is made from an aluminium rod. I made plan and drawing and brought it to my friend who has tools to make it (I don’t know the name of this tool on english). Rear part was modified part of aires exhaust.

Marko

Thanks Marko - I just checked out Zactomodels web site and the resin sets are beautiful! I think I’m going to have to get them, and I"ll probably get both of the Aires sets as well (although I haven’t been able to find the wheel bays). It will end up being expensive, but it’s gonna turn out into a beautiful model. Maybe your friend has a “lathe”? It’s a tool used to shape metal, and specifically metal rod can be rotated on it and then shaped to different dimensions. Just a guess. But the engine looks awesome. Please keep posting updates. I’m working on the Academy F-16 and enjoying every minute. I’ll probably post at some point - right now just enjoying the Eduard photoetch sets, and black box resin sets. But looking forward very much to the Flanker. Jon

Yes, I think we mean on the same tool. [:)]

F-16 is the only one more I will build in this scale.
Enjoy it,

Marko

OK, you obviously have WAY too much time on your hands. If only the actual Russian assembly team had spent as much effort on the real bird!!!

You do set the bar high!

WOW !!! Your doing a GREAT job so for, I can’t wait to see more…
