I’ve got a 1/32 scale matchbox MK22/24 Spitfire and was wondering if anyone has had any experience building this kit. I’ve contemplated selling this one off for a while but everytime I get it out I just can’t seem to let it go. Any really bad things other than the trenches for recessed panel lines in this kit that I should be aware of?
I built the kit about 20 years ago. It is pretty much typical for matchbox. If I remember right it took a lot of putty but , it came out pretty well. My skills back then were not the greatest. I am certain if someone really took their time it would make a nice kit. I believe that it is the only Mk 22/24 available in 1/32. Good Luck.
When I built one, I used a lot of putty on it, but I liked the final product and it was an enjoyable build. I recall the fit at the wing root was the biggest problem spot.
I liked it enough to score another one on Ebay a year or two back.
Tracy I have a 1/32 scale Spitfire Mk22/24 that I have had for over twenty years. It is packaged as a AMT kit. I do not know if it is a rebox of a Matchbox kit or not. The problem is the kit I have is missing one whole sprue of parts and has double of one of the others. If anyone has any use for this kit I would be glad to see it put to some good use.
