1/32 Revell S Cobra

It looks like the early version Cobra (S model) is being rereleased by
Revell.I ordered one on Squadron last week to be shipped to me in
the middle of July. I hope this is the model I remember from 20yrs ago.
Does anyone have more info on that release ?If I remember it came
with 2 pilots and a displayable Engine, and Trani.Same eengine that
came in Huey in that time frame. Please let me know if anybody has more
info on that kit out there. Thanks for your time…

Howdy Dave!

That poor kit has been re-released so many times I would hate to see it now!
You can probably still find close to SEALED 1968 kits on ebay for 20.00 or less.

I have used the aftermarket resin cockpit and chin turret set for that kit and it is AWESOME! its only 20.00 bucks I think…here is the link:

Good luck!

Also, she is a “G” , and not a “S” s. She is Vietnam era. I am hoping Revell puts a little bit of work into the pit, other than that, she’s not a bad kit. I haven’t seen original issues of the kit on ebay, but have seen the Revell of Germany offerings there.

Thanks for the info men.Looks like model manufacturers are leaning towards the
big stuff, which is fine for me.The larger size gives me more room to add stuff, and makes it easier to see that stuff that I’ve added.Yes Yes>… Pa pa echo it has been around a long time and it was well over 20 years ago that I built one.I have a veteran
customer who is collecting the aircraft and river boats from his time in Nam.It has been
great to do this for him.He wants the aircraft as big as I can find.I am working on a
1/48 C-130 gunship right now. Ok model heads thanks again to all,and keep the
replies commmmin.

Dave have you seen the Tamiya 1/35 scale PBR-MKII Nam Brown water river boat?..its a great kit! not alot of work needed …its great from the box.

You can see my 1/23 Cobra, 1/32 ‘slick’ and the River boat on my page

Thanks PaPa E and yes the Tamiya PBR was the first model I built for my customer.
He found one in a toy store somewhere on the west coast, and had to have it. You are
right about the amount of details and side stuff Tamiya has included in this kit.The only
thing I did was cut out the shields behind the driver so you could see all the details in the cockpit. They included alot of neat things with this kit.Ok sir you have a great day and
a great week .We will E you soon. The best davey 5

Dave,

I removed the curtian to the ‘pit’ and added sum detail there…and made the support structure for the canvase cover out of brass. Your right about that kit…ITS A GOOD ONE! The AM/FM cassette radio and the BERR BOTTLES with the decals were just too much!
