1/32 kate or vale please

Hi all

Now I have only been doing this hobby for a short time but I get increasing fustrated that all t he aircraft that I want to build are always in 1/48 not 1/32.Surely there are modellers all over the world who love 1/32 scale , but can’t buy their aircraft .
Can anyone with a bit of infullience please tell t he manufactures .Please more 1/32 models Hasegawa and Trumpter , what about a Kate or a Vale it would sell millions

Thanks Sushi[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][soapbox]

Sushi,

Although 1/32 scale is a lot of fun, and there are many modellers (including myself) that enjoy the occasional 1/32 kit, IMHO the reason you don’t see more offerings is because the larger scales don’t sell as well as the smaller. I think it is a simple matter of having the space to display the behemoths when you finish them. Since the hobby has more adults participating in it now days, we dictate the market.

There has always been a “bias” toward the larger scale. This stems from the fact that they are much easier to detail, and they don’t quite get the respect as, let’s say, a 1/48 or 1/72 kit that is hyper detailed. As far as the Japanese aircraft that you have mentioned, I doubt very seriously if they would sell “millions” in todays market. I’m sure that in Australia, WWll Pacific era birds are much more popular than they are in other places, for obvious reasons.

You can bet that if the demand for the scale was there, the manufacturers would be pouncing on it. It all leads back to dollars.

Wait long enough & Hasegawa or Trumpeter may do one or both in 1/32, but they sure won’t sell in the millions.

Regards, Rick

might be a bit over the top with the numbers boys, but the principle is the same , why make 2-3 versions of these aircraft in 1/48 but no 1/32 at all.
Yes and I realise that the mighty dollar speaks volumes.
