can i use one of the current releases of the f-104 to buid into the one used by the us air force, are decals available,1/32
hiya–
Hasegawa made a 1/32 F-104C model some time back, but I havent seen it in a while. Currently they market a F-104G model, but that one has a larger vertical fin than the -C does. I am not sure if their model replicates this or if they used the same basic mold for both versions. I’m sure that there are decals out there somewhere for this…
The F-104Gs used by German forces for training in the United States carried U.S. Air Force insignia and markings and were often flown by American pilots. So an F-104G in American colorws would be historically correct.
The problem with the Hasegawa 1/32 F-104G is that it does NOT include the underwing stores or pylons shown on the box. Your only options are wing tip tanks and center mounted swiderwinders. There are no options for underwing stores.
