i’d really like to build a 1/32nd scale ju-88g or a he-219. combat and id made 219’s; does anyone know if one was better than the other? i’ve got a fair idea of what i’m letting myself in for- these kits are a blank canvas- but has anyone seen/built both of them (unlikely,i know…!) the ju-88g might wait until revell does a different version of their nice -a1 kit for me to convert; as it stands, its too much work to change it into a -g. anybody help? thanks- s.
Check the aftermarket. I do know there are many resin engines for these aircraft in 1/32 scale, possibly someone makes a conversion kit that you need?
i haven’t seen much in the way of conversions for the revell kit yet probably because it’s such an early version : i suspect revell will bring out an -a4 and from there will come easy conversions to the c-series fighters and the -r series nightfighters. Any -g series nightfighter would involve changing a lot of things; any aftermarket set would cost more than the kit and i don’t want to spend that much. cross kitting with the vac kits might work but would be an expensive hassle-i’ve looked into this one already!

thanks for that one mate. i saw some of the first aims conversions but i knew a G would be more than i want to pay and more involved than my scratchbuilding skills would allow ; i’d do a C6 from an A4 though, when revell bring one out…i’ve seen those gorgeous he219 links before ; having had a couple of ID vac kits i’ve got a fair idea what to expect but was merely wondering if the combat kit had any advantages over the ID or vice-versa. i think availability will be more of an issue anyway. something that i’m kicking myself for is giving away a 1/32nd decal sheet for the ar234, he219 and ta154 because i never thought i’d use it…thanks again- s.
No problem. Really hoping Dragon or Revell will get around to an injection molded 1/32 He 219 one of these days. Don’t know whether I have enough determination to get through one of those vac kits!
hahaha, hear you loud and clear on that one! if revell do it,it’ll be reasonably priced (at least here in europe), probably similar to the ju-88 which is a bargain by far east standards; if dragon do it, it’ll probably be really good and really steep and if trumpeter do it, well…anyway, the challenge of one of these basic vac kits is that you have to do so much and the reward is that when you put it out in public, everyone knows what the score is… thanks- s.
