1/32 F-18D kits or conversions?

Hey everybody.
I recently got a Academy 1/32 F/A-18C and is that impressive. I would like to build a ‘D’ in this scale. I was thinking about convertion. I mean I would not have to worry about a rear cockpit. It 's there, there are two instrument panels, two seats, two sets of controls. The panels are broken up in such a way that it requires no cutting of the model to do it. The only thing that I would have to do is put some instruments in the rear cockpit, and build a rear coaming(not too bad) and make an new canopy(real problem).
I hear tale that 1/32 F-18D is in the works from Academy. (Wish I had known about this two weeks ago.) Does anybody know more about this?
Also, does anybody know if there is a conversion set available to make the a ‘C’ into a ‘D’?
Thanks everybody.

Like you said, all the stuff for the second cockpit is there in the kit except the canopy. Obviously, Academy was giving themselves the option of producing a B/D version. Whether or not they actually do that is open to speculation. I haven’t heard anything for sure that they are going to.

If all the parts are in the box except the canopy, you know it’s just a matter of time until they release a D. You could just wait until they release it, then just purchase a canopy from Academy or if you’re ambitious you could make a mold and vacuform your own.
