1/32 BF 110 G-4

Evening folks,

Couple of questions for the Luftwaffe builders here.

I am attempting Revells old 1/32 BF110 G-4 will be adding J Rutmans Cockpit and a MDC DB605, of course re scribing the panel lines and so on.

Does anyone have any pictures, drawings or cut-away drawings showing the firewall and engine bearer detail?

Also looking for some new decals as the ones in the box are alittle bland and quite old. I have tried the usual places like Eagle Strike, AMD and a few other decal suppliers. Being an old kit I guess there is not to much to choose from, but I know you guys get around alot more on the web and may know somewhere else I can try.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi Andy!
I have a book full with WWII Aircraft cuttaway drawings and I think there´s a BF-110 there… problem… I´m moving to another home and all my books are packed… Soon I´ll open all the boxes, look for it and when I find it, I´ll scan it and send it to you.

Sorry not helping too much right now…

See ya!

Follador,
Any time would be great thankyou. I am in the planning phase right now, still collecting all the necessary parts.

Thanks again

only thing I could find was on www.greatmodels.com

they have a lot of resin and PE for the G-4, as well as a Eaglecal set of decals (might be more, that’s as far as I checked…) for the nightfighter versions…

I’ll holler if I find anything else…

Andy, your request is exactly the kind of thing that grieves me so much because I can’t afford a scanner or camera these days. Within two minutes of reading your post, I located the exact drawings you are looking for. One is in a very old and out of print book called “Outstanding Military Aircraft of WW II” and includes eight different a/c types that you would expect in this type of book: Zero, Spitfire, Mustang, etc. It also has photos and drawings of engines, including the Merlin and Twin Wasp. But it also has a separate drawing of the engine bearers and firewall for your G-4, as well as overall drawings of the entire aircraft and its interior fixtures, such as control cable routing, etc.
The other one is still in print, and can be got from Squadron and even poorly stocked LHS’s. It’s called “Scale Aircraft Drawings, Vol. II, World War II.” The book has been reprinted for about forty years and I think it’s put out by one of the R/C magazines, but I may well be wrong about that. In any event, this book is invaluable for me, and even more so is Vol. I, which includes WW I and some between-the-wars a/c. I also have a copy of a large-format hadrbound book called simply “Me-109,” which is one of a really nice, old out of print series that included the Mustang, the Thunderbolt and the other usual suspects. If you need some of these things, and don’t have any luck anywhere else, I’ll be happy to photocopy some drawings for you and snail mail them.
Good luck,
Tom

Yes it would seem Greatmodels has quite abit, but lately I have come across the order it, and when the box arrives half of it is Out of Production, so I have steered clear of them of late.

Thanks, my main concern is the firewall and bearers as I can find nothing for them. This may be my greatest undertaking yet, good practice for the 1/32 Mosquito I also have. So yes if you have the time anything you could photo copy would be great, any cost involved let me know. Drop me an E-mail when ready and will send along my snail mail address.
