Hey guys. I never posted WIP pics here since it was all in the Hornets Nest GB thread. This was my first time completing anything this big. It was a really fun build but it is also nice to get this big sucker done and all the extra sprues boxed up and out of the way. Enough stalling. Here she is:
I HUGE thanks goes to Frank for supplying me with the main decals when mine turned out to be junk and to Fermis who supplied with the common markings.(that I ended up not using)[:$]
I don’t know why that on some of the pics it looks like there are little flecks on the canopy. Must be some sort of reflection when I was taking pics.

That is a really gorgeous build. Which kit did you use? I have a couple of F18s in 1/48 but nothing this big. You did an incredible job.

Ill keep an eye out for a good deal on that one. I love the F18 in general but all I have had up until now were a couple of the Revell blue Angel versions which reek with a capitol R. Whoever designed the stabilators should be covered in honey and staked to an anthill. Same problem with every kit. Tail connector breaks and the fit is so bad you end up spending hours with gap filler, CA and various pieces of sandpaper and needle files to fix a problem which wouldn’t have happened if they had made the connector rod half a cm thicker… I find myself moving away from the Monogram/Revell kits now. I picked my teeth on them as a kid as I am sure we all did, but it’s time to get serious, and move onto Hasegawa, Academy, Italeri and the other mid tier kits… LOL
