cheer’s tojo , wish I had a big area to display , but ces le viv . [:D]
came across another fit issue , only about 4 mm out . I also had to cut the locating lugs for the radiator off , so i could position it properly .
all better now

got most of the masking done too .
got the wings on now , just a lot of little bit’s and piece’s to go , and a lot of sanding .
can anyone tell me what this little propeller on the wheel strut is for , I think I read something about a siren , is that true ?
Steve,
I don’t know if you were being serious with your question or kidding around, so I will err on the side of caution.
Those strut propellers are the "Jericho Sirens " in which the sound it produced was used to terrorize the impending victims. That sound has since been used by filmmakers, kids cartoons, and every other form manageable to represent the sound of a plane (jet and propeller) diving into a crash.
Looking good, and yep, those are the infamous sirens.
Nice job on the tail struts, how did you fix that?
thank’s kevin . I wasn’t joking , I normally build ship’s , I was only guessing at it’s function .
cheer’s bish , I just cut the head off of it and added a 3mm square piece of styrene in , waited 24 hour’s and shaved it to shape with a knife and a fine file .
Progress is lookin’ good Steve.
Yeah those sirens put up quite the noise …but…that’s what they were designed for.
I like the display area idea. Good thinkin’
Ye, i see it now. Thanks for the tip.
Wow, that was a pretty significant gap in that support bar.
That engine is beautiful. Alclad? BTW, which song did you have to sing to get it?
I remember seeing the size of the box that monster came in at the local HS.
They had one built up and hanging from the rafters. That’s a big model! Impressive work and detail in your build. Following attentively.
thank’s guy’s for the comment’s , appreciate them all .
lawdog , no mate I generally use tamiya paint’s , with a bit of AK , and MIG , haven’t been game to try alclad yet . I’m starting to wish I had put a bit of effort into opening up the the engine cowling .maybe on the next one [:$]
your right mopar , couldn’t really beleive it . it was the same both side’s too .
this thing sure took a fair bit of primer
I’m thinking it would take me just about a whole bottle of Model Air RLM 65 to paint that underbelly! [:O]
your not far off of the mark mopar . [:D]
you even get real rubber tyres in this kit
Yup. Vallejo Model Air for this beast. RLM 70/71 splinter pattern topside, RLM 65 undersurface.
you may want to consider getting some masks from Maketar for insignia and letters. They may do a set for this kit, but I am not sure.
Trumpeter have a B2 in the works I think. If they get it right at both pricepoint against detail then it could affect Airfix sales of what is a very much outdated kit that has issues.
I would love to see Airfix go back and redesign their spitfires, Hurricanes, ME 109 etc and just bring them up to Tiffy and Hellcat standard of detail and fit.
I would also like them to change the plastic for a better standard rather than the soft cheap stuff they use now. It might take the RRP up a bit but it would make a better experience and sturdier kit.
would also love to see 1/24 ME262 and Corsair and maybe they could get a working hinge?
Given the price of Trump’s other 24th scale Stuka’s i am not sure the 2 are going to compete. And Trump certainly need to get the 24th B right unlike their 32nd kit, the issues in that kit are what have stpped me buying one and i would love to add a 32nd B to my collection.
Steve, looking very nice there, looking forward to seeing some paint going down.
thank’s bish mate . some paint !! this is nearly 2 bottles of tamiya XF61 , [:S]
well 1 colour on , will leave it for a day , before I start masking .
next phase of the camo done
