1:24 Alfa Romeo 101 Giulia Spider

Hello everybody!

I’d like to show you my model of the Alfa Romeo 101 Giulia Spider. This model has been built out of the Revell kit number 07316. It was also available as Protar numer 231, and also as Italeri number 3691 (without the engine!). This model was a gift for a very special Lady, and built on a tight schedule. Although the sprues didn’t look too good with a lot of flash, the fit was suprisingly good. Mold seams on the chromed bumpers can cause problems - I sanded them and covered up with BMF. Mods I made include ignition wires, white backs of the headlight buckets, pegs to position the hood while closed and soundproofing made out of aluminium foil from a yoghurt can lid, side windows sawed off so as to show them cranked down, corrected stance of the gearbox stick with a new bag, added seat position levers and added backs of the seats.

But enough of the writing - here are the photos:

Pawel, that is some nice work, don’t see that one built very often. Very nice, clean workmanship and details. Are the keys in it? I promise to have it back before dark.

rommelkiste - thanks a lot! Oh well, just don’t dent it … [:D] Have a nice day!

nice work. as a former alfa owner i can appreciate a sweet AR. those tires look a little funny (with the sidewall tread).

Thanks a lot!

I didn’t notice that with the tires until now - the thread usually goes a little bit on the walls of the tires, but not that much.

So thanks again and have a nice day
