1:200 George Washington submarine.

I just picked up the above mentioned kit and I’m wondering if there are any photo etch sets available for it. I love the details but some of them are a bit lacking. Any help on this is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think that if you post this in the Ships section you will have a better chance of getting answers. Lots of sub builders on there. Don’t forget to post pics of you build.

This is the one thats got an interior, right? And firing missiles!

Very cool.

If so, the scale is more like 1/260 if that helps.

Gold Medal makes a 1/240 set for Buckley, and a 1/300 set for Burton Island. That might get you ladders and watertight doors, beyond that I have no idea but there’s not a dedicated set.

Sounds like a nice project.

Yes they advertise it as being 1:200 but I thought I read it was somewhat different scale. I started the build the other day. For some reason I am unable to post pictures. I went with a Hauser medium green for the interior. It’s a little darker than I wanted but is the closest I have to interior green and looks great. The details are fantastic but there is enough flashing in this kit to build a whole other model in itself. Thanks for the advice. I will post in the ship building forum as well.
